Fast Quips

Heard last Tuesday Congressman Raul I. Gonzales, Jr. in ANC’s Strictly Politics stating the reason the House dismissed the impeachment complaint: “the Senate has already prejudged the case, it is a kangaroo court” or words to that effect.

If the Senate is a kangaroo court, what then are Cong. Raul “Illogical” Gonzales, Jr. and the House? Joeys?

---------------------

Executive Secretary Ermita on Sen. Jamby Madrigal’s police escort apologizing for dropping his Glock: “No one can prevent him from saying sorry, pero huli ka pa rin!”

Now, who was he exactly referring to? Jamby or GMA? Sounded just as appropriate to GMA’s “I am sorry spiel” Huli ka pa rin!

Dawin,
Pare grabe yung ginawa ng Supreme Court sa Northrail Contract. Now they are saying the shtickhead Rick Abcede is calling for abolition of th UP Law Center. I used to prowl around the Supreme Court website a lot, but haven't been there lately. you?

DJB,

Not too much except for latest jurisprudence and looking for nice biographies of former justices like your lolo.

I heard the lawyers of UP Law Center on ANC this lunchtime. Apparently, they were trying the Piatco formula. But this time, di pinagbigyan.

Tama sila. While the SC is not a trier of facts, the issue accdg to them is whether a public bidding was conducted or not? Or if an unsolicited offer requires bidding? Apparently, they are hesitant to rule.

Sabi ko sa iyo, dami trabaho SC if GMA is around. May GMA fatigue na ang mga justices but it is working in her favor. Panay dismiss ang mga petitions.

The justices should do something pro-active like what they did in EDSA Dos.

Abcede is trying to worm his way to the top. I dont know if he is a good lawyer to begin with. But to abolish UP Law Center because its opinion was against GMA betrays a fascist streak in that fellow.

Bakit ba mga abogado na lumaban para sa EDSA Dos, nang-makaupo sa poder, nagiging Marcos ang pananaw?
